What We Do

PhillyConnect seeks to build stronger and safer communities and promote lifelong gains for youth facing high-level charges. Our holistic program lasts six to nine months and provides rigorous interventions to help youth develop accountability, future-oriented planning, emotional self-regulation, and skills to navigate through life challenges.

Key Program Components

Staff Mentors work with youth and families to ensure needs are met and strengths are identified and built upon.

Mentorship

We spend 7 to 30 hours per week with youth, depending on individual needs.

Intensive Engagement

We meet young people where they are – in the community, in the home, or in any safe space. Youth work with their Mentor to develop individual goals and a safety plan to deal with conflict and crisis.

Individualized Plan

We encourage all young people to identify one education and one employment goal and help them achieve their own visions for their future.

Education & Employment

We uplift young people’s strengths and motivate youth to pursue their natural interests and passions.

Asset-Based Youth Development

Areas of concern are monitored and addressed through therapy and skill-building e.g. anger management, substance abuse, cognitive behavioral therapy, prosocial activities.

Individualized Plan

Our staff helps key parties in the child’s life work together toward common goals. These “teams” can include school staff, community organizations, and family members.
